Windsurfing: Felixstowe Dip Wind Direction: NE Wind Stength: 16-20kts Surf / Sea State: swell waves flat Air Temperature: warm Sea Temperature: warm Weather: sunny Max Speed: 25.75 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 24.2 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Superb sail arrive about 2.45 left 7pm, 5 out Swainey, Ian Chris, Nick all
were on big sails at 2.30 planing OK then at high tide the wind eased
rigged 8.2 / 146L had a nice sail for a while then the wind kicked in. Sea
was quite big at high tide but OK. Got thrashed on first launch.
After tide turned the wind kicked in had to change down to 6.7, Ian went
5.3, Swainey 6.6 and we all had a great sail. I went searching to flat
water near the river - but went wrong again, ending up the other side of
the bank and the sea was seriously big. Envious when I saw Swainey and Ian
in the flat water hammering along.
Had loads of rides off faces including one full planning gybe down a face
with all the time in the world. Fell in a few times in the rough water near
the river and had to drop the sail once when the racing fleet was speeding
to the finish.
Stuck with the seat harness and suffered no back ache, so possible the
waist harness is causing me issues.
Stayed with the big board as just too lazy to change and there was plenty
of reasonable water about.
Didn't try too many speed runs as there wasn't much wind on the strip so
stayed near the hut.
Losing out on acceleration to light weight Swainey, but flat out we are
travelling same speed.
After 3 iffy sails this is just what I needed and made it back to the spa
in time for a nice steam and shower.
